Read Aloud Program celebrates its 10th Anniversary
Ten years ago, Read Aloud America launched its first Read Aloud Program (RAP). In the first year, we served 3,163 people in two different communities. Now, having served over 140,000 people, we are excited to celebrate our 10th anniversary by returning to one of the schools where it all began: Waimalu Elementary School. While a new group of students will attend, seventeen of Waimalu's faculty and staff who attended the school's first RAP will be there to experience it again. Looking forward to returning to Waimalu, Founder and President Jed Gaines reflects, "What a thrill it has been to be a part of the team that created the largest family literacy program in America. The big excitement for me is the positive changes happening in homes from people of all walks of life." We are thrilled to announce, Superintendent Pat Hamamoto will be our special guest at Waimalu on September 11th. Please join us for our RAP sessions on Thursdays at Waimalu on the following dates: August 28 September 11 September 25 October 23 November 6 November 20 |
